Introduction to Sea Kayaking
(£160 - 2 Days)

This 2 day course is for people with little or no experience of sea kayaking. The course will cover basic boat handling techniques specific to sea kayaks, safety and rescue, and trip planning.

Flat waters of Loch Oich, Scotland

Intromediate Sea Kayaking
(£160 - 2 Days) (£320 - 5 Days)

This course is for the paddler who considers themselves more than a beginner, but not quite experienced enough to undertake expeditions and more challenging coastlines. Exploring different coastlines from sheltered bays, sea cliffs and surf beaches. Safety and rescue practical workshop.

Level of experience required: Some basic sea kayaking skills.

Journeying, Taw Estuary, Devon

Intermediate Sea Kayaking
(£160 - 2 Days) (£320 - 5 Days)

A course for paddlers who want to improve and build upon their existing skill level. With the opportunity to gain practical experience of more challenging coastlines. The course will include a mini-expedition for those wishing to take part, carrying all food and equipment for a night out on an isolated beach! The course will aim to cover the new BCU 3 * Sea Kayak training syllabus.

Level of experience required: Confident in winds up to force 3, with a competent support stroke.

Experienced paddlers on Loch Ness, Scotland

Coastal Navigation and Trip Planning
(£160 - 2 Days)

This course is designed to prepare people for a day out paddling on the coast in a sea kayak. Covering topics such as – where to obtain weather forecasts and how to use them, tidal information and tidal planning, using maps and charts, and developing your pilotage skills.

Level of experience required: Should have some experience of coastal paddling.

*NEW* BCU 3 Star Sea - Training and assessment
(£240 - 3 Days)

This award is discipline specific and is a pre-requisite for the UKCC / BCU level 2 in coaching paddlesport. The assessment will take place on the final day. If you want assessment only, this can be arranged by contacting the booking office.

Level of experience required: 2 Star skills, although the award itself is not necessary.

Sea Kayak Safety and Rescue Workshop
(£80 - 1 Day) (£160 - 2 Days)

A course for any paddler who wishes to gain the knowledge and experience of how to perform solid rescues. Covering topics such as – group rescues, self rescues, using a towline, difficult landings and safety equipment carried by sea kayakers and how to use it. This is an excellent course for those paddlers who wish to take their paddling to the next level.

Level of experience required: Competent flat water paddler.

North Devon Explorer
(£80 - 1 Day) (£160 - 2 Days) (£320 - 5 Days)

Giving you the opportunity to log some experience of coastal journeying and enjoying the marine environment. The course will not concentrate on skills development but have the emphasis on gaining experience of coastal travel by sea kayak, giving you a chance to enjoy the trip whilst under the guidance of our fully qualified staff.

Level of experience required: Competent coastal paddler with some understanding of tide.
